Testimonials

This is just a quick note to show our appreciation of the care and attention you have given to mum since she has been in respite with you. Mum is very content and much happier than she was at home. She comments on how lovely the venue and the food is and she loves the music which gets played in the day room, it takes her back to her dancing and "the good old days".

Hygiene is taken very seriously and Mum always looks clean and is well dressed. Mum couldn't stand at the sink in the bathroom and the carer looking after her at the time sat her down in the chair but still made sure her hands were washed and dried.

The family are much more content knowing that Mum is in a safe and caring place and she has everything she needs. All staff at Rosedale House are an asset to you, they are very friendly, thoughtful, and caring, nothing is too much trouble for them. They treat the family as good as the people they care for, we always get asked if we would like a tea or coffee and even got a fruit platter brought up to Mum's room when we visited her.

It was a very smooth transition from Mum's home to Rosedale for respite and ourselves and our Mum have already requested if this can be extended and we fully hope that in time, Mum can fully reside with you.

I know we see you regularly but thought we would write this letter of appreciation so you know what a lovely residence and great team you have :)

Thanks once again, and see you soon!

I wanted to email you and your fantastic team to thank you all for the care and support your are giving my Mum and family.

After Christmas 2023 it was evident that my sister's family and I could no longer keep Mum safe and stimulated within the purpose built annex she has resided in for the previous 2.5 years. Her dementia and health had started to decline, and she was becoming withdrawn and agitated. We started looking for a suitable care home that would suit Mum's, at the time, awkward social skills. Mum was always adamant that she never wanted to go into a care home following the experience she had when her mum was in care 30 years ago. We viewed 7 possible care homes locally to Stockwood, and on every occasion we left thinking they would not be able to provide the care we wanted for our Mum.

Having met you and the team in March, Melinda (my sister) & I thought we had found the perfect place for he, and how right we were! Even before the first night was out, Mum was laughing and joking with you and your staff and even dancing, something she loved to do when our Dad was with us. Mum comments at every vist 'how wonderful' you all are, how happy she is, and thanks us (Melinda & I) for choosing such a lovely place for her to live. We leave each visit feeling relief and happiness that Mum in her later years is comfortable, being professionally looked after and secure in her new environment.

Thank you so very much!

Two years on from Mum first joining you in May 2021, I would just like to say how very happy we both are that she is a resident with you. I was feeling very guilty when she first moved in but I knew that I was unable to look after her, and she was increasingly unsafe in her own home. I worried about her constantly and it was impossible to have a day away, let alone a holiday.

Now I know that she is safe, well cared for and happy. She constantly tells me and other visitors how lovely and caring you all are, and how she loves being a resident. Rosedale always looks and feels very homely, and not institutionalised. It feels like a lovely, friendly, family home. I love the pictures around of the residents doing things. I know Mum probably doesn't join in very much these days, at nearly 105 that's not surprising. But I know that she is in the midst of a group of loving, if sometimes, noisy folks! I know that she is eating well and enjoying her food. She has certainly put on weight since joining you, but everyone who sees her, or photos of her, comments on how well and happy she looks.

I probably do still feel a bit guilty that perhaps she should be living with me, but I am sure that we are both a great deal happier and healthier with her living at Rosedale. It is such a home from home. Please do thank all the staff for the love and support they give her, and me, Please do keep adding pictures to your Facebook page, I find it very reassuring to be able to to look and see what you have been up to and at the lovely food you are eating.

Keep up the good work!
